Leucanthemum Chandelier

Chandelier using single flower variety

Time: 11 minutes and 36 seconds Season: Spring / Summer (however can be adapted to be all year round)

Hello again! Thank you for joining us for today’s lesson on how to create a statement arrangement with a single flower variety with the Academy of Flowers. In this design, we will be focussing on two poignant trends in 2024 including Installation work and Single flowers.

Big installations are on the up; couples are putting a large part of their budget on a one statement piece, such as an arch, hanging cloud, aisle meadows, ladders and large pedestals. These pieces are guaranteed to make a big impact on the wedding day and wow the wedding party and guests.

Moreover, the single flower trend represents a return to essentials in floral design, celebrating the beauty of simplicity, sustainability, and meaningful design choices. It’s a trend that speaks to both contemporary aesthetics and timeless elegance, appealing to a wide audience seeking understated yet impactful floral expressions.

This style of design is incredibly popular and versatile for both weddings and events. It can be created using different flower varieties, fresh, dried and artificial flowers in all colour ways and themes. If the design is being hung up high, it is advantageous to use artificial or dried as the flowers can be reused or repurposed after the event and kept by the clients as a keepsake.

If you would like to recreate the design, you will need the following:

QuantityEquipment / Plant Materials
1/2 bunchesSoft Ruscus
1 bagCable ties
1 rollTwine
20-30 stems Leucanthemum (single variety)
1 pair Scissors
1 Hoop

Thank you so much for watching today’s lesson. We know firsthand that big installations can seem intimidating at first, but once you understand the basics and have some practice under your belt, especially with a single variety, it becomes so much easier.

It is important to remember that every floral masterpiece starts with a single stem. Don’t be afraid to take on those big projects – you’ve got this! With each arrangement, you’ll gain confidence and skill, and soon enough, even the grandest installations will feel like second nature.
