Amaryllis, or otherwise known as Hippeastrum is one of the most beautiful flowers for the holiday season. Due to their impressive vase life and with their dramatic flowers, they’re perfect for contracts and making a statement at events and weddings!

Part of the Amaryllidaceae family and native to South American regions such as Mexico, Argentina and the Caribbean. Hippeastrum means ‘horseman’s star’ in Greek and is also commonly known as ‘Knights Star’ because of its resemblance to a medieval weapon used from horseback.

This module is an introduction for the cut flower, Amaryllis, providing an insight into different flowering varieties, along side how to care for and condition the stems to prolong the vase life.
