Seasonal Large Arrangement for Milk Churn

All Round Arrangement for Milk Churn

Time: 17 minutes and 7 seconds | Season: Mainly Summer (adapt for other seasons)

In this demonstration, our tutor is sharing with you how to create a large arrangement suited for a wedding or event that can be displayed in a milk churn or similar vessel. This arrangement uses both fresh flowers and artificial flowers and can be adapted seasonally to suit the colour scheme, theme and season.

It is important to consider the size of the arrangement that you need to create based on various factors such as placement, vessel and type of venue.

The design is created using eco-friendly mechanics: Chicken wire, however you can use floral foam or other types of foam i.e. fibre floral depending on your time constraints, preferences and skill level.

All of the products used in the demonstration can be found on our wholesale webshop here. Should you wish to recreate the design, you will need the following products:

QuantityEquipment / Plant Materials
1Bulb Bowl
1 reel Chicken wire
1 roll Anchor tape (optional)
1 bunchSoft Ruscus
1 bunch Eucalyptus Parvifolia
3-5 stems Hydrangea (Fresh or Faux, optional)
10 stems Craspedia
10 stems Larkspur
5 stems Clematis
1 pair Scissors
2-3 stems Cornflowers Blue (Faux, optional)

Tips: Instead of the artificial Hydrangea, you can use fresh in the design especially if using eco-friendly mechanics. Hydrangea are thirsty flowers and can wilt in warmer temperatures during the Summer months. It is worth to be mindful that they prefer to be in fresh water as opposed to foam. If you are using in foam arrangements, make sure to fully condition the stems before use and in situ mist the heads with water to keep hydrated.

You can choose for faux or artificial flowers for several reasons: seasonality, availability and colour choices. Starting with seasonality; particular sought after flowers such as cornflowers, peonies, anemones that are seasonal and are not readily available all year round. Choosing good quality artificial flowers can allow you to include the chosen blooms in the flower arrangements, especially if your clients have requested them specifically.

Thank you so much for joining us in today’s demonstration. I hope that you have enjoyed the design and gained an insight into how to create this style of arrangement for a wedding or event. As mentioned above, the more practice you have, the more confident you will become in offering this style of design to your prospective clients.
