Manipulated Spring Branches
Create your own wreaths with Spring branches

Younger branches are much more flexible and malleable than older, more rigid branches. Spring brings a great opportunity to create your own structures, such as wreaths for floral designs later in the month or in the year. You can use foraged branches from your gardens or purchase branches such as Pussy Willow or Golden Curls from your local or online wholesalers.
In the demonstration, our tutor illustrates the simple technique in manipulating and bending branches to create a wreath. Alternative types of wood include cedar, dogwood, birch and of course, willow. Avoid trees that release sap from the branches such as pine, spruce and fir.
To recreate the design, you will need the following:
